Director Daniele Prade is content with the work that Fiorentina have been able to do in the January transfer window.

Fiorentina sold Juan Cuadrado to Chelsea but have strengthened the squad and Prade believes that Serie A cannot compete with other big league in Europe.

“We did not want to sell Cuadrado but we got a good deal for him,” Prade told Rai. “It was always going to be hard to keep a player of Cuadrado’s calibre.

“However with the money that we got for him we have been able to greatly strengthen the squad. Diamanti, Gilardino and Salah are all top quality players and will improve this team.

“Rosi will also help the side in our goal to qualify for Europe.

“Italy is behind other leagues in Europe. The Premier League, La Liga and others are more appealing to players.”
