New Toronto FC signing Sebastian Giovinco has stated that he wants to make history at the Reds.

The Italian international – who signed for the MLS side as a free agent in the January transfer window – also took the time to thank the fans who greeted him at the airport upon his arrival.

“I’d like to thank the club [Toronto FC] and the fans who greeted me at the airport,” he said. “I want to repay their faith and write the club’s history.

“I left Italy because I had a few problems there, and I looked for a city that would make me feel welcome from day one.

“All the team is working towards achieving great things.”

Giovinco made 131 appearances for La Vecchia Signora, scoring 20 goals in the process.
