Former Real Madrid midfielder Lassana Diarra is nearing a move to Serie A club Inter.
Inter have been trying to strengthen their squad as much as possible this January transfer window, with midfield being one of the key areas identified by Roberto Mancini.
According to tuttomercatoweb.it, the deal is close to completion and is only a step or two away from being confirmed.
Diarra, who is now 29 years old, has played for several European clubs during his career including giants like Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid.
The Frenchman has often been compared to his compatriot Claude Makelele, due to their similar playing styles.
Diarra has been without a club since leaving Lokomotiv Moscow in 2014, following a dispute with the club after he refused to train.
