Inter are attempting to bring Portuguese defender Rolando back for a third stint in Serie A, and a second at the San Siro, but a deal is unlikely with Porto seemingly intent on offloading the centre-back to Belgian side Anderlecht.

The 29-year-old spent last season with the Nerazzurri on a season-long after spending the remainder of the previous season with Napoli and despite Walter Mazzarri, the man he served at both clubs, being replaced by Roberto Mancini is still wanted in Milan.

However, according to Tuttomercatoweb Porto have so far be unwilling to accept the Inter offer of €700,000 for a short-term loan and a €4m option to buy and would prefer an offer being proposed by the Belgians.

Last season Rolando was an integral part of the team under Mazzarri and made 29 appearances in Serie A and scored four times.
