Conte - Norway v ItalyItaly coach Antoni Conte has been accused of match fixing by the Cremona based magistrate Stefano Palazzi.

The allegations relate to a 2-2 draw between Novara and Conte’s old club Siena in 2011, a game for which the Azzurri coach previously faced a ten month ban for failing to report match fixing.

According to Il Messaggero, Palazzi is accusing Conte of acting in a manner designed to fraudulently affect the result of Novara v Siena for reasons related to gambling.

However, it is expected that the judicial process would take so long that the Italy coach would never have to seriously respond to the allegations made against him.

An initial trial is scheduled to take place in the province of Siena in May or June of 2015 to contest the charges of fraud and following that the case could be referred to the supreme court, making it likely the case against Conte would collapse.
