Tottenham Hotspur winger Erik Lamela denies he received an offer from Fiorentina to return to the Serie A in the summer.
The 22-year-old Argentinian international struggled in his debut season in England last year, but has improved under new boss Mauricio Pochettino this season becoming a regular fixure in the side.
His club travel to the Artemio Franchi on Thursday evening in the second leg of their Europa League clash to take on Fiorentina, looking for a victory to take them through to the next round.
“Tomorrow we’ll play a tough game. But we have to play our game, and above all win at all costs,” the ex-Roma star told reporters at the pre-match press conference.
“The Viola are very strong, they will look to play football as always and it should be a very open game. I want to win this one, then the one against Chelsea on Sunday.
“Fiorentina offer in the past? I heard the rumours, but there was never a possibility of me returning to Italy to play for Fiorentina.
“The differences between the two leagues? In Italy it is much more tactical, whilst in England it is more physical.
