Miralem Pjanic continues to be linked with a move to the English Premier League, with Liverpool reportedly preparing a €50 million bid to prise the Bosnian away from Roma.

Roma’s Miralem Pjanic has developed into one of Europe’s finest midfielders since joining the Giallorossi from Olympique Lyonnais in 2011.

His form has alerted the Merseyside giants in their search for a replacement for captain Steven Gerard, who will join Los Angeles Galaxy at the end of the current season.

The Daily Mirror reports that Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has made Pjanic his number one summer transfer target and is ready to tempt Roma with a €50 million bid for the 24-year-old, while offering the player a salary worth €215,000 per week that would make him the club’s highest earner after Gerrard’s departure.

Rodgers is understood to have already held talks with Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini, but it is unlikely that Roma will let Pjanic leave without a fight, especially as he recently signed a new contract until 2018.
