Inter coach Roberto Mancini has nothing but praise for his Argentine striker Mauro Icardi, as the tactician has compared him to former AC Milan striker and current coach Filippo Inzaghi.

Despite reports suggesting the 21-year-old is unhappy with recent contract talks with the Nerazzurri, Mancini praised his starlet by suggesting he has ample room for improvement.

“Icardi? He is great guy and easy to manage. He is a young striker at 21-years-old and still has room to grow,” Mancini told Sky Sport Italia.

“He has the quality of great strikers: he scores goals like (Filippo) Inzaghi.

“All I ask from him is that he must improve in defense and participate more in the game.

“He is like a striker from the past the way he scores goals. He is young but can improve with certain game situations.

“Despite his young age, his goal average is very high.”
