Atalanta sporting director Pierpaolo Marino has revealed that Daniele Baselli will not be leaving La Dea this winter despite rumours claiming otherwise.

The 22-year-old midfielder had been heavily linked with a move to AC Milan in recent weeks but Marino has insisted that none of the Nerazzurri’s talented players will be making an exit from the Orobici this season.

Marino spoke to Calciomercato.it about Atalanta’s priority to keep Baselli at the club for as long as possible and confirmed that the youngster had been pursued by multiple teams besides the Rossoneri.

“I can confirm that president Antonio Percassi has blocked the sale of all of our valuable players, including Baselli,” said the sporting director.

“However, Baselli had been courted by many clubs, not only Milan.”

The 60-year-old also commented on the subject to Gazzetta.it and admitted that Atalanta had met with Diavolo vice-president Adriano Galliani to speak about Baselli’s future.

“We met with the vice president, but we have postponed any serious talks until the next opportunity,” he said.

“We have a good relationship with Milan.”
