Racing Club striker Diego Milito has revealed that he reached the highest point of his professional footballing career during his time at Inter.

The 35-year-old, who played for the Nerazzurri from 2009-14, saw much success during his time in Milan and he admits that former coach Jose Mourinho was able to bring out the best in him during his debut season at the club.

Milito spoke to El Pais about his past at Inter and commented on the love he feels for Racing Club, insisting that he wouldn’t want to be playing anywhere else at the moment.

“Mourinho is one of the best coaches in the world,” said the Argentine. “He can always get 100% from all of his players.

“With him, back in 2010, I reached the pinnacle of my career, even though winning the title with Racing Club has still been very special to me.

“I was lucky to win these two titles with Racing here in Argentina, I feel privileged. I preferred to come back here rather than go somewhere else where I could have earned much more money.

“The Argentine Primera Division? There is more hunger here than there is in Italy.”
