The Montreal Impact are reportedly seen as the favourites to land Lazio midfielder Cristian Ledesma at the end of the 2014-15 Serie A season.
The 32-year-old will be out of a contract with the Biancocelesti in June and was widely expected to make his exit from the capital city club during the January transfer window, with teams including Montreal and Fiorentina apparently fighting to secure his signature as of late, though it seems like next chapter of his footballing career will take place in the MLS starting this summer.
According to AlfredoPedulla.com, the Canadian side have already come into contact with the Argentine’s representatives in recent weeks in order to begin negotiations for his services, but may still face competition from other North American clubs in the coming months.
Ledesma, who has played at Lazio since arriving from Lecce in 2006, has provided one assist in his seven Serie A appearances this term thus far.
