New Sampdoria defender Ezequiel Munoz has revealed that he hasn’t signed for AC Milan despite reports claiming otherwise and insists that he’s only thinking of doing well at La Samp this season.

The 24-year-old, who recently completed a loan move to the Blucerchiati from Palermo for the remainder of the campaign, was thought to be in the process of arranging a deal with the Rossoneri that would come into effect this summer, as he will also be out of a contract with the Rosanero at the end of the season, though he’s denied this.

Munoz spoke to the press during his Sampdoria presentation on Thursday about why he chose to join Sinisa Mihajlovic’s squad and cleared up the rumours linking him with a transfer to Milan in the future.

“Sampdoria are a great team, they’re a team that knows what they want,” said the Argentine. “They’ve showed this against Palermo, but also against all of the other teams in the league.

“Our goal? The important thing now is to earn enough points for salvation and then we can consider achieving the other objectives, to make the Europa League or achieve our dream of playing in the Champions League next season.

“I’m ready to give my contribution here. It’s not true that I’ve signed something with AC Milan, I’m only thinking of doing well with Sampdoria right now.

“My role? I can play as a centre back or a right back.”
