Napoli coach Rafa Benitez revealed his satisfaction with a 4-0 win against Trabzonspor in the first leg of the Europa League Round of 32.
Goals from Henrique, Gonzalo Higuain and Manolo Gabbiadini inside the opening 30 minutes gave the Neapolitans control of the tie, but Benitez still believes his side needs to be more consistent.
“It was not easy and we decided to continue playing at the same pace, even after taking a 3-0 lead,” the 54-year-old tactician told Mediaset Premium after the match.
“We managed to score the fourth goal and I am satisfied.
“In Palermo we made mistakes, but in terms of the game we did well. Today we did everything right to take the lead and control the game.”
“We still lack the maturity to do well in all of our matches, but this is a matter of experience, maturity and getting into a winning habit. We are still growing.”
Benitez also praised Gabbiadini after he scored and provided an assist on his Europa League debut.
“We knew that he was strong. He was signed for both the present and future of Napoli,” he concluded.
