Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero has said that there is no cause for concern regarding Samuel Eto’o not attending extra training after their poor 5-1 defeat at the hands of Torino.

The Cameroonian striker, who recently joined Blucheriati from Everton, has dominated headlines by walking out on a double training session scheduled by coach Sinisa Mihajlovic as a punishment for their horrendous display on Sunday.

Ferrero, speaking on the show Tiki-Taka said, “There is nothing to clarify regarding the Eto’o situation. Nothing happened, he asked for permission before leaving.

“Offers for Eto’o from China and United States of America? I know nothing about any offers.”

The management at Sampdoria do have a mess to clean up, with different versions of stories coming out from different personnel. Ferrero will hope that the team is not distracted, as they host Sassuolo next at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
