New Boca Juniors signing Pablo Osvaldo insists he didn’t leave Inter because of his row with Mauro Icardi last month.

The 29-year-old Italian international had an ugly exchange with his Nerazzurri teammate in the 1-1 draw against Juventus in a league match last month, leading many observers believing that was the main reason that Osvaldo was on the outer with the club.

“I always said that if I had to leave Inter, it would be for Boca,” Osvaldo told Ole.

“People didn’t believe me and they took me for a liar on Twitter, but fortunately I finally arrived here.

“I had many offers in Italy, in Europe and from minor Leagues who could offer me great money, but I always waited for Boca.

“I read in Argentina that people said I left Inter because I wasn’t doing well, but the truth is I had a better goals per minute ratio than Icardi.

“The reality is that my problems at Inter were off the field. In the end that discussion with Icardi was like any other, except it was really blown up out of proportion.

“I have no problem with Icardi. That was not the main reason I left Inter, but I am not going to reveal what it was.  But it certainly wasn’t because of Icardi.
