Lazio coach Stefano Pioli was bitter following a shock defeat to Cesena, believing his club deserved to lose on Sunday.
Lazio failed to capture any momentum throughout the match, looking frustrated and unmotivated at times. Cesena was able to take advantage and secure a huge three points for the home side.
“We didn’t play to the best of our ability,” Pioli said to Mediaset Premium.
“We adopted a slower pace, which we aren’t used to. We also struggled to put Cesena under pressure, and eventually over extended ourselves.
“We deserved to lose. Absences can’t justify [the result]. We were ready for the challenges Cesena would present us”.
