Nicola PozziItalian forward Nicola Pozzi has officially signed with Chievo Verona after his departure from former club Parma.

The 28-year-old spent just over a year at the Gialloblu and was recently given the chance to find another side.

The ex-Sampdoria striker explained that negotiations with the Mussi Volanti had been on-going for some time and that the club was the ideal environment for him to succeed.

“There had already been approaches between us and this is a detail that has always made me happy,” he told ChievoVerona.it on his presentation day.

“Here there is everything to do well: structures, environment, fans and the club,” he said.

He is adamant that the confidence and importance placed on him will inspire him to play his best football for the team.

“Here I feel the confidence and esteem of both club and the technical staff,” he continued.

“To feel important was the thing I was looking for more. That’s what matters to me. I want to try in every way to give a contribution to this team,” he said.

Yet the Italian admitted he was lacking match fitness due to his absence of playing time at Parma and expects his former teammates to be raring to go ahead, of the clash between the sides.

“Physically I’m fine, obviously I’m missing regular match play,” he continued.

“In Parma I was told that there would be no room for me and that I was free to find a new team.”

“Sunday I expect to find my former teammates ready to do everything to win the game,” he said.
