Genoa defender Facundo Roncaglia has revealed that he loves to satisfy the Rossoblu fans and insists that his performances with the Genoese club are to thank for his return to Argentina’s national team.

The 28-year-old, who is currently at the Grifone on a season-long loan from Fiorentina, admits that he’s pleased with his team’s current form and is especially happy following their 1-0 win over Lazio in Rome on February 9, which has helped Gian Piero Gasperini’s men inch closer to a top five spot in the Serie A standings.

Roncaglia spoke to the Corriere Mercantile about Genoa’s recent victory against the Biancocelesti and thanked the Stadio Luigi Ferraris outfit for allowing him to play at his best.

“In Rome we were able to see a good performance from Genoa,” said the Argentine international.

“We were a bit slow in playing our game during the first 25 minutes but after our goal we were much more compact, we were able to play the way we wanted to and fought for every ball.

“It seems to me like the fans were happy in the end, and I always love to see that.

“My return to the Argentine national team is all thanks to my performances with Genoa. For this I want to thank the club, the coach and all of my team-mates.”
