Sampdoria and Torino are both ready to pounce on Palermo captain Edgar Barreto’s current contract conundrum.
The 30-year-old Paraguayan international has been in fantastic form for Palermo this season, leading by example, but has a contract that expires at the end of the season.
Sport Mediaset report that Barreto is no closer to reaching an agreement with the club to extend his stay at the Sicilian outfit, and looks set to leave the club for nothing at the end of June.
Torino and Sampdoria are known admirers of the midfield general, and could be set to battle it out for his signature in the coming months.
Barreto has made 18 appearances for Palermo this season, scoring twice.
