Galatasaray playmaker Wesley Sneijder has revealed his joy at Cesare Prandelli’s departure from the Turkish giants, revealing that he is now the happiest player in the world.

Prandelli was sacked by the Turkish outfit back in November, and although it was well known that Sneijder was not enjoying life under the Italian tactician, he has only just truly let his feelings be publicly known.

“Right now I am the happiest player in the world,” the 30-year-old told Fanatik newspaper.

“Fortunately Prandelli is gone and in came [Hamza] Hamzaoglu.

“He is the perfect man, he takes care of all of the players and knows how to motivate them.

“We believe that we can still win the title this season.”

Former Italy head coach Prandelli only joined Galatasaray at the outset of the current season but struggled to guide the side through the group stages of the Champions League and was sacked after they lost 2-0 to Anderlecht in November, a result that saw them finish bottom of their group.
