New Roma signing Nicolas Spolli is targeting winning Serie A and the Europa League this season following his transfer deadline day move from Catania.
The Argentine defender arrived at the Stadio Olimpico on a €1.5 million loan deal from the Serie B side, with the option of making the move permanent in the summer for a further €1.5m.
“I was fine at Catania, and refused offers, but when Roma call you it’s impossible to say no,” the 31-year-old said at his official presentation to the media.
“It’s a quantum leap [from Serie B], being here is a dream come true. I’m very happy and proud to be wearing this shirt today.
“That’s the beauty of football, a week ago I was playing in Serie B, now I’m here.
“If Roma lose a game all hell breaks loose, I think we’re a great team and I have no doubt we’ll fight for the Scudetto and the Europa League.
“Personally I will always give my best whether on the pitch, on the bench, and during the week.
“I’m here to help my teammates even though there is great competition.”
