New Roma signing Nicolas Spolli has revealed that he’s happy to have been given the opportunity to join the capital city club at this point in his career and has thanked the Catania fans for their continued support.

The 31-year-old, who recently completed his loan move to the Giallorossi from the Elefanti for the remainder of the season, insists that he’s ready to give his all to his new team in order to secure a solid spot in Rudi Garcia’s squad and hopes that he can aid the Lupi in their fight for the Scudetto.

Spolli spoke to GianlucaDiMarzio.com about his move to Roma and reflected on the memories he made at Catania, while also wishing the Sicilian side the best of luck in the second half of their Serie B campaign.

“There are so many emotions, so many memories that bind me to Catania,” said the veteran defender.

“I had the chance to go to a great team like Roma and I had to take it. I’m about to be 32-years-old soon, so it was an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up.

“There are already many great defender in the Giallorossi squad, but I’ll try to play my cards right for a spot.

“The Scudetto? There are many great players in this team, we will play until the end.

“The end of my adventure at Catania? I’m sorry for the relegation last season and this year the team hasn’t been able to really do well.

“However, I’m convinced that they will turn things around. I thank the fans for all of the support they’ve given me, I’ve always given my best.”
