Parma have denied rumours that they have sold the club to Proto Organization Enterprises, but will announce a new owner and board of directors later today.

Rezart Taci’s Albanian-Russian-Cypriot consortium had bought the Ducali in December from Tommaso Ghirardi only to sell again last week to unknown investors.

“With regard to what released today by some newspapers, Parma FC categorically denies that the Proto Group have acquired the majority stake of Sporting Events Spa (parent company of the club) and that the deal was concluded at the notary office Ricci of Milan,” says a statement on the club’s official website.

“Parma FC announces that the details on the new ownership will be known tomorrow after the appointment of the new board of directors.”

Several newspapers believe the new owner is Giampietro Manenti, the 45-year-old CEO of Mapi Group, who are based in Slovenia and work with Russian giant energy company Gazprom.

Manenti had previously tried to buy troubled Serie B club Brescia only to pull out of negotiations.
