Fans of Serie A club Parma have made a protest against former Ducali president Tommaso Ghirardi, former sporting director Pietro Leonardi and the current president Giampietro Manenti.

A thousand people started protesting at the Stadio Ennio Tardini, then the group went along the Stradone Martiri della Liberta, one of the longest streets in Parma, and the protest concluded at the residence of former sporting director Pietro Leonardi.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Crociati fans hung up signs that said “Closed for robbery” and “Closed for theft” and a banner that said “Ghirardi and Leonardi permanent damage” was also hung up at the Tardini.

Parma’s fans also shouted things such as “Manenti go away” and “we will take back Parma” and the one of the chief supporters said, “Manenti must go. We do not want any more. From Monday, we have to go to Collecchio to make him understand.” There was also the suggestion of protesting at Ghirardi’s residence in Carpenedolo, Lombardy.

The Mayor of Parma Federico Pizzarotti was supposed to meet Manenti on Sunday and although the meeting was rescheduled for Tuesday, the mayor doubts that the Parma president will turn up at all.

“I had to meet him tonight to start looking at the bills and see possible solutions but he was unable to and we rescheduled the meeting for Tuesday in the city along with advisors and technicians. It is a situation that is not recoverable. There is no credibility and no desire from presidents of this type,” Pizzarotti said.

“From what I read, it seems that he will not come back. Let’s see otherwise I think his credibility will be completely over.”
