AC Milan’s Michael Agazzi is set to miss the remainder of the current season after undergoing shoulder surgery on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old former Cagliari keeper was signed as a back up at the beginning of the season and has yet to make a competitive appearance for the Rossoneri and will now have to wait until next season to feature for his new side.

“AC Milan announces that today Michael Agazzi underwent an operation on his right shoulder,” read a communication on the club’s website.

“Professor Alessandro Castagna, who performed the surgery, said he was pleased with the outcome of the operation.

“Agazzi will return to competitive action in three to four months.”

As well as playing for Cagliari, where he spent four seasons, he most recently played one season for Chievo before he opted to join the Rossoneri as a replacement for Marco Amelia.
