Italian giants AC Milan look set to cut some players from their roster so they can trim down on players salaries.

Currently there are five Rossoneri players whose contracts will expire in June and another two are on loan deals but it is unlikely that these players will be on the AC Milan roster for the 2015-16 season.

According to Leggo, the five players who are likely to depart are goalkeeper Christian Abbiati, who earns €1 million a season, defenders Daniele Bonera (€1.2m) and Philippe Mexes (€4m), and midfielders Nigel De Jong (€3.5m) and Michael Essien (€2.5m).

Defender Pablo Armero and midfielder Marco van Ginkel are on loan from Udinese and Chelsea respectively and they are both earning €1.5m for the season.

The Rossoneri are hoping that these departures will allow them to spend more money on players when the summer transfer window opens.
