tommaso ghirardiIt was revealed on Friday that former Parma president Tommaso Ghirardi had forced players and staff to purchase some housing in his home town of Carpenedolo, Lombardy, which are now for sale.

Ghirardi had convinced the players to purchase the apartments in the northern Italian town in exchange for contract extensions during his presidency.

According to La Gazzetta di Parma, some of the people who purchased housing in Carpenedolo include current captain Alessandro Lucarelli, former players Cristian Zaccardo and Stefano Morrone, youth team goalkeeping coach Nicola Pavarini, technical director Antonello Preiti and former sporting director Pietro Leonardi.

The apartments were acquired by a credit agency led by the father of Ghirardi but they were put up for sale on Friday.

Ghirardi was president of Parma from 2007 until he sold the club to Albanian businessman Rezart Taci last year and then Taci sold the Ducali to Giampietro Manenti in February.
