Tuesday March 3 marks the 62nd birthday of former Brazilian playmaker and legend Zico. Along also came a host of his fellow maestros who graced Italy’s pitches.
The fourth highest goalscorer in Brazilan history, Zico spent two seasons with Udinese between 1983 and 1985 where he caused great commotion in Friuli for his vision, finishing and outstanding ability from dead-ball situations.
Udinese may not have been able to achieve anything more than mid-table finishes with Zico in their ranks, but he still made an impact on the Italian game that will not easily be forgotten.
Some may argue that Zico is the greatest No.10 to have graced Serie A during his short time on the peninsula, but he is just one of the many Brazilian attacking midfielders who have become greats in the history of the Italian game.
Forza Italian Football brings you here another 10 of the best Brazilian playmakers, who have contributed to making Serie A one of the top leagues in the world.
