Inter have reportedly accepted a transfer bid from Liverpool for star midfielder Mateo Kovacic.

The 20-year-old, whose current deal with the Nerazzurri is set to expire in June 2019, has been heavily linked with a possible move away from the San Siro outfit all season with a number of top clubs looking to land him, though it now seems like his future could see him playing in the Premier League with the Reds.

According to ITV, Liverpool have taken a massive step forward in their mission to secure the Croatian international by offering Inter a fee of around €30 million for his services, which the Italian side have apparently accepted.

Some reports suggest that the Biscione may be willing to cash in on the talented youngster in order to have the funds to purchase Roberto Mancini favourite Yaya Toure from Manchester City this summer, though this is yet to been confirmed.

Kovacic has scored five goals and provided two assists in his 25 Serie A appearances this term thus far.

Even though I have no love for Inter, I’d be gutted if Kovacic left Serie A. He’s a great talent who just hasn’t been utilized properly by both Mazzarri & Mancini. Kovacic is at his best in either the deep-lying playmaker role, or in the hole behind the forwards. Mancini has been using him on the left & Kovacic clearly doesn’t like playing there.

Inter are in financial difficulties & I can understand the potential sale of Kovacic in this respect. But to replace him with a player like Toure is just madness. The Ivorian has been on a downward slide for some time now. He’s also lazy & very immature too; cake-gate tells us this much. Also, he is hardly going to be cheap. There will be a transfer fee, & even if this turns out to be low his wages/bonuses won’t be.

A disgraceful decision if Inter agree to this. Did they not learn their lesson with coutinho never mind thf act that they are selling one of the best younger atttacking midfielders in the world to buy an aging midfielder on the slide. Mancini doesn’t know how to work on a budget so should be sacked in the summer
