AC Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi believes his side showed signs of improvement during the second half despite slumping to a 0-0 draw against Chievo.

The Rossoneri coach felt his side deserved to bring home all three points, though he did admit they must be more clinical in front of goal.

“We were certainly better in the second half,” said Inzaghi to Sky Sport Italia after the game.

“Keisuke Honda hit the bar but we had to be more clinical in front of goal.

“In the first half we really tired ourselves chasing the points but it’s never easy to play against Chievo.

“Maybe after the restart we deserved a goal but we’ll continue to see the glass as though it’s half full, it’s the second consecutive game in which we haven’t conceded a goal.”

The Milan coach also spoke about Alessio Cerci after bringing him on in the second half, after recent reports of an argument between the two over the forward’s playing time.

“I think that Cerci can play as a second striker or even as a trequartista if he was in his best condition.

“Cerci is a player that I wanted myself, we’ll take things slowly to help him return to his best form.”
