Italy move into top 10 of FIFA rankings

FIGC LogoItaly have regained a spot in the top 10 of FIFA’s world rankings for the first time since last June.

The Azzurri, despite not playing a match since November climbed from 12th to 10th spot, replacing former world champions Spain, who were pushed down to 11th.

Antonio Conte’s men were the only change in the top 10 of this month’s rankings which were published on Thursday.

There have been only five international friendlies since the last list which was published in February, explained FIFA, and five of those were in the Concacaf region with no representation in the top 10.

FIFA World Cup winners Germany retain the top spot which is unchanged from last month’s standings, followed by Argentina and Colombia in the second and third position, respectively.

Overall Barbados were the biggest gainers, moving up 11 places to 131st, while Bhutan was at the bottom sitting at 209th position without a single ranking point.
