Juventus are reportedly interested in Bayer Leverkusen’s young defender Wendell.

The 21-year-old has become a stalwart in the Aspirine’s backline after his €6.5-million summer move from Brazilian side Gremio and is turning heads of big teams all throughout Europe.

The Bianconeri’s defence is having nothing short of a magnificent season, conceding only 14 goals in 27 Serie A matches and helping the team to cruise into the quarter-finals of the Champions League after a dominant 3-0 away win against Borussia Dortmund. However, according to Sport Mediaset La Vecchia Signora want to add youth to the left flank, where the current starter is 33-year-old Patrice Evra.

Although he could provide quality for years ahead, Wendell, who helped the Aspirine to go on a five-match run in all competitions without conceding prior to Tuesday night’s heartbreaking loss to Atletico Madrid in the play-offs of the Champions League, has a contract that expires in 2019, which will certainly raise his price tag.

The four-cap Brazil Under-21 international has made 17 Bundesliga appearances this season and has one goal to his name.
