The 20-year-old established himself as one of the first names under Walter Mazzarri’s time at the club, but ever since the arrival of Mancini, Kovacic’s level of performance has dropped and the player’s agent knows why.
“Coaches like him [Mancini] have no idea of how to play him [Kovacic],” Kovacic’s agent, Nikky Vuksan, told the Croatian paper Vecernji List.
“Mancini is probably the only one who uses him in a different role to what he should.”
Vuksan also discussed the future of his client amidst the rumours of Liverpool having lodged an offer for the play-maker.
“There is nothing to it, maybe the club have negotiated in secret but both myself and Mateo [Kovacic] know nothing of it.
“Mateo will not be leaving Inter for any reason, he signed a new contract worth €4 million in January.
“Inter have already turned down offers worth up to €30 million from the big European sides.”
