Palermo prodigy Paulo Dybala has joked that he would swim to Barcelona should the Catalan giants move for him in the summer.

The Argentine youngster is widely expected to leave the Sicilian club at the end of the season, with a host of Europe’s elite being linked with his services, but it appears that the player would take an unprecedented step to secure a move to one of his favoured clubs.

“I would swim to Barcelona,” Dybala commented to Radio Belgrano.

“It’s just across the Mediterranean after all,” he continued, playing down the vast expanse of water in his path.

The 21-year-old, who will be “better than Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic,” according to club president Maurizio Zamparini, has netted 12 Serie A goals so far this season.
