Manchester City loanee Micah Richards has admitted that he is enjoying life in Serie A and that the move has helped him develop as a player, although he has not ruled out a return to the English Premier League.

The 26-year-old joined the Viola on a season-long loan deal in September 2014 and has slowly made his way into Vincenzo Montella’s starting XI plans.

“I’m enjoying it [Serie A], obviously it’s a lot different from the Premier League,” Richards told Alan Brazil on his talkSPORT breakfast show on Wednesday.

“‘It was a little difficult at the start of the season. The manager said its not like Premier League, I want you to come here and watch, see how we play and then we will see how we can use you.

“It’s all about tactics over here, managers are massive on tactics. I think its helped me a lot and I’m glad I came over here.

“I feel like I’m getting back to my best, I needed a change. Coming out here has definitely benefited me.”

Richards also spoke of his plans beyond this season and revealed the decision would be solely down to the amount of games.

“It’s difficult to say, obviously everyone wants to play in Premier League, but I wouldn’t mind staying here, we’re doing well.

“Previously I’ve been linked with Inter in January, I’m going to have a few options in both leagues.

“It’ll just be where i’m going to play the most.”
