Roma are reportedly trying hard to put a wrench in Inter’s plans of tying goalkeeper Samir Handanovic to a new contract.

The Giallorossi, in a bid to focus on next season, are scouting for a dependable shot-stopper and Handanovic along with Chelsea’s Peter Cech are rumored to be on the club’s radar.

Currently, the Slovenian goalkeeper is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2016 and with no agreement on a contract extension in sight, Roma have taken an interest in the highly sought after keeper.

Sky Sport Italia report that Roma director Walter Sabatini has managed to place himself in the middle of negotiations and is hoping to convince Inter to sell the Slovenian this summer.

Roma are reportedly looking for a goalkeeper with extensive European experience and Handanovic fits the bill.

Handanovic has made 112 appearances for Inter, keeping 44 clean sheets along the way, since joining the club in 2012.
