Round 26 of the Serie A season saw Juventus stretch their lead at the top of the table after they beat Sassuolo and Roma’s struggles continue as they were held to a goal less draw by Chievo.

AC Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi is under increasing pressure after his side were also held by Verona.

Parma returned to action following a period of inactivity as the uncertainty around their financial situation continues. The Gialloblu drew 0-0 with Atalanta.

Inter came from two goals down to earn a point away to Napoli in the big Sunday evening clash. While, in the Monday evening’s action Lazio routed in form Fiorentina 4-0.

The formation chosen for the Team of The Week is a 4-3-3 with two veterans and one young starlet making up the attacking trident.

Do you agree with our choices? Feel free to leave a comment if you feel we have overlooked anybody.

Emiliano Viviano – Sampdoria

Produced a great one handed save to deny Samuele Longo and was an effective sweeper keeper at times, clearing balls sent over the defence when needed.

Lorenzo De Silvestri – Sampdoria (3 Team of the Week appearances)

Opened the scoring for his side with a bullet header and was resolute and physical with his defending. Ventured forward down the right flank when possible

Team of the Week 26Alessandro Lucarelli – Parma (2 apps)

The captain put in a no nonsense display as Parma returned to the playing field following the chaos surrounding their financial situation. The centre back neutralized the threat of Atalanta forward Mauricio Pinilla and was constantly organising his defensive colleagues.

Claudio Terzi – Palermo

The experienced centre back was in the right place at the right time to thwart the sporadic Cesena attacks and was dominant in the air when needed.

Eros Pisano – Verona (2 apps)

The full back stopped numerous AC Milan attacks down the left flank and defended his penalty area resolutely. He also blocked several crosses.

Allan – Udinese (4 apps)

Recovered the ball for his side on countless occasions and wasn’t afraid to dribble forward when space opened up ahead of him. The Brazilian is developing into a key figure and a leader for his side.

Lucas Biglia – Lazio (3 apps)

The Argentine opened the scoring against Fiorentina with a thunderous volley and nearly scored a second with a similar effort in the second half. The goal aside the former Anderlecht man never wasted the ball and was a dominant figure in the middle of the park.

Mirko Valdifiori – Empoli

The central midfielder did his fair share of defensive work in the match against Genoa and distributed the ball intelligently when in possession, always looking to create something for his side. His good form has seen him linked with the likes of AC Milan and Napoli.

M’Baye Niang – Genoa

The young Frenchman appears to have regained his confidence following a frustrating period at AC Milan. Scored a fine solo goal for his side and his strength and pace meant he was always a threat on the counter.

Samuel Eto’o – Sampdoria

Operated slightly deeper in a number ten role and used his vision to pick out several pin point passes for his team mates. Became more of an influence as the match became stretched in the second half and got on the score sheet with a stinging half volley.

Antonio Di Natale – Udinese (4 apps)

Opened the scoring with a precise header and showed his all round game when he laid on assists to create the Zebrette’s second and third goals.
