Former Juventus and Inter midfielder Patrick Vieira believes that Roma will win the Europa League this season.
The Giallorossi laboured to a 1-1 draw in their first leg Round of 16 tie against Fiorentina, and lead on away goals ahead of the return leg.
Vieira was unanimous in his thoughts on Roma’s chances to lift the trophy in Warsaw.
“I think that Roma will win the Europa League this season,” stated Vieira at a publicity event for a sponsor.
“They are a good side with a good coach.
“The Europa League is a tough tournament, there are many sides who could win some of which have come down from the Champions League.
“Everyone wants to win it, so the expectations from the fans are high.”
Vieira also discussed the current situation at his former side Inter and he sees a bright future in store for the club.
“The team is going through a transitional stage but I am sure with the return of Roberto Mancini and the new owners the club will return to do very well.”
