AC Milan are prepared to battle Wolfsburg for the services of Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke in the summer.
The 24-year-old Belgian international has endured a mixed season at Villa Park, but has shown signs of his former self under new boss Tim Sherwood in recent times.
The Mirror report that Milan have already made tentative inquiries as to whether they could tempt Benteke away, and will be even more confident if Villa fail to avoid the drop this season.
Benteke, who scored a hat-trick against Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday evening, is also being heavily courted by Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg.
The towering striker has netted nine goals in 23 league games this season for Aston Villa.
