AC Milan are interested in pulling off a sensational coup by bringing Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic back to the San Siro.

The 33-year-old left the Rossoneri in 2012 as the club sought to cut costs by letting top stars leave, but recent speculation suggests that a takeover of the club is imminent giving Milan more money to spend in the transfer market.

Calciomercato reports that Ibrahimovic’s agent, Mino Raiola, met with Galliani on March 19 to discuss a contract extension for full-back Ignazio Abate, but with that almost a formality the main purpose of the meeting was in fact to discuss a return for Ibrahimovic.

The Swedish international currently earns €12 million net per season, with a decrease next year to €10 million plus bonuses, and it is believed that he wishes to see out his contract at the Parc des Princes which expires in June 2016 before making any move, although he may change his mind if Les Parisiens win an extraordinary treble this season.

The former Juventus, Barcelona and Inter man won the Scudetto with Milan in 2011 before joining PSG for €20 million in 2012, and he has since gone on to score an incredible 102 goals in 124 games in France.
