The Atalanta youth-product was set to join the Nerazzurri before joining Milan in a move worth €7 million plus bonuses on September 1, and he has been satisfied with own development in spite of the club currently sitting in mid-table.
“None, I’m at a great club,” the 25-year-old told Tuttosport.
“This year we had a lot of difficulties as far as the team is concerned, maybe a bit too many, going by my expectations. But it’s been an important year for me in many ways.
“I moved from a provincial team to a big club and I immediately felt the confidence of the coach [Filippo Inzaghi].”
“Obviously it would be wonderful if I could score against Inter, but what is most important is that we put in a great performance.”
Bonaventura also dismissed heavy criticism of the players and coach from former Milan midfielder Zvonimir Boban on Sky Sport Italia after their 1-1 draw with Sampdoria last Sunday.
“I didn’t expect that of [Boban],” he continued.
“This team, in my opinion, has a squad that deserves better than our current position in the standings. But if this is where we are, then we’ve all made some mistakes.”
