AC Milan striker Mattia Destro is reportedly fit enough to participate in the Diavolo’s derby clash with Inter on Sunday.

The 24-year-old had to be carried off of the field after picking up a seemingly serious leg injury in the Rossoneri’s 1-1 draw with Sampdoria on April 12, with many fearing he may have suffered a fracture to his left tibia, though it seems tests have now proven that no serious damage has been done.

According to ANSA, Destro has been able to return to training on Friday and is expected to be named in coach Pippo Inzaghi’s squad but may be kept as a reserve player on the bench depending on his condition.

Reports also suggest that the striker could earn a starting spot if his physical condition continues to improve over the next two days.

The Italian international, who is currently on loan at the San Siro outfit from Roma, has scored two goals in his nine Serie A appearances for Milan thus far.
