Juventus coach Massimilano Allegri has stated that his side must maintain their balance, and not think about achieving the treble.

The Bianconeri are set to travel to face bankrupt and bottom of the table Parma on Saturday evening, and a win against Roberto Donadoni’s men will see the Turin side edge closer to a fourth successive Serie A title.

“A win against Parma would bring us one step closer to the Scudetto with eight games remaining,” he said.

“We have to praise Donadoni and his players for continuing the season with pride, they are in good physical shape too.”

Allegri then went on to praise his side’s performance on Tuesday night against Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia semi-final when they overturned a 2-1 home defeat to overcome La Viola 3-0 in Florence, thus booking a place in the final against Lazio, and in turn keeping them in contention for all three competitions.

“On Tuesday, we overturned the tie after losing at home, and with a 3-0 scoreline,” he started. “It was the first time in the club’s history to overturn a home defeat.”

The former AC Milan coach gave updates on the conditions of some members in the side, before urging the Bianconeri to think about one game at a time instead of the treble ahead of their Champions League quarter final clash against Monaco on April 14.

“Carlos [Tevez] is in good shape,” he started. “[Andrea] Pirlo is still not fully fit yet, whilst [Stephan] Lichtsteiner’s condition will be assessed.

“[Andrea] Barzagli will be rested because he picked up a calf strain, which is normal because he played five games in a row after being out for eight months.

“At this point in time we need to maintain our balance because this is a time where teams fall.

“We need to concentrate.

“We’re thinking about Parma, then after tomorrow night we’ll have one day to prepare well for Monaco [in the Champions League quarter final].

“If we’re anxious then we’re not going to be at our best, we’re looking forward to the Monaco game because early on in the season no one expected us to reach such a stage.”

Allegri finalised his words by expressing his happiness for striker Alessandro Matri, who netted the opening goal against Fiorentina, as well as praising other members of the team.

“I’m happy for Alessandro,” he said. “I’m happy for [Simone] Padoin and [Stefano] Sturaro.

“It was an important night for all those who set the field on Tuesday.

“[Fernando] Llorente is in good condition. [Alvaro] Morata played really well on Tuesday but he was unfortunately sent off, which will see him miss the final.”
