The 24-year-old, who has been at the club since 2013, was keen to commend those at the top of the club as the Gigliati push on in search of their first trophy under the Della Valle brothers.
“Tonight we played a great game,” said Alonso when speaking to Firenzeviola.it
“The hierarchy at the club deserves this success because they have always stuck by us even in the difficult times.”
Alonso gave his thoughts on potential future opponents in the tournament, as well as dishing out some special recognition for Spanish compatriot Joaquin following his excellent individual performance on the night.
“Each of the opponents that remain in the competition are very strong. We will just have to see who will receive in the draw.
“As for Joaquin, he is a real bullfighter.”
