Rafael Benitez NapoliNapoli coach Rafael Benitez’ future in Serie A could become a little clearer with speculation that the Spaniard will remain in Naples if he is given assurances over future transfer targets.

After two seasons with the Partenopei, the 54-year-old has been surrounded by speculation that he will walk away at the end of the campaign, even if he were to secure Champions League qualification for the club.

According to Tuttonapoli.net, Benitez is willing to accept owner Aurelio De Laurentiis’ contract offer if he agrees to sign four players highlighted by the coach.

That list includes three of his countrymen, Alvaro Arbeloa of Real Madrid, Malaga’s Ignacio Camacho and Javi Martinez of Bayern Munich, as well as centre-back Jan Vertonghen of Tottenham Hotspur.

With no attacking reinforcements reportedly requested by the 2005 Champions League winner, it would appear they are confident of retaining an already impressive cast of striking talent at the club.
