Former Juventus, AC Milan and Roma coach Fabio Capello reportedly earns €7 million per year in his current role as coach of the Russian national team in a deal that expires in 2018.

The Italian has been under pressure after a poor showing at World Cup 2014 and also due to his side’s current position of third in Group G of the European Championship Qualifiers, behind Austria and Sweden.

Novaia Gazeta report that in addition to his €7m per year salary, the 68-year-old also earns bonuses tied to results along with various other expenses, such as rent.

Russia’s Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko commented on Capello’s position this week.

“Now he has a contract and his task is the 2016 European Championship,” said Mutko, at the SportAccord convention in Sochi.

“We are not in the best position so if he wants to work on we have to improve this position.”
