Diego Farias feels that Cagliari answered all their critics who had labelled them already relegated with their remarkable win against Fiorentina.
The Rossoblu secured a vital three points at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, courtesy of Duje Cop’s brace and Farias’ late strike, to reduce the gap to seventeenth place Atalanta and the forward admitted that their efforts were rewarded against the Viola.
“We covered a lot of ground today, it was a key factor,” Farias told Sky Sport Italia after the game.
“Everyone thought we were done for, but we will fight to the end.
“We are happy, today we played a great game and we were able to bring the three points home.”
The win was the Isolani’s first since they overcame Sassuolo in January and they snapped their four game losing streak in the process.
