Fiorentina have announced that club captain Manuel Pasqual has signed a one-year contract extension on Tuesday.

The 33-year-old’s original deal was set to expire at the end of the current campaign, though he has now penned a new agreement that will see him remain with the Viola until June 2016.

The Gigliati released a statement on ViolaChannel.tv regarding Pasqual’s future at the Stadio Franchi outfit and expressed their pleasure to have him remain in Florence.

“ACF Fiorentina is delighted to announce that Manuel Pasqual has extended his existing contract with the club,” read the announcement.

“The Viola captain, who joined the club in 2005, has made 330 appearances over his ten seasons with Fiorentina, placing him in tenth position in the club’s all-time appearances charts. Pasqual has also scored ten goals.

“Pasqual’s new contract will tie him to the club until June 2016.”

The defender has scored two goals and provided two assists in his 16 Serie A appearances this term thus far.
