After spending five years in Emilia-Romagna at Parma, former goalkeeper Sebastien Frey has admitted that the current situation at the soon to be relegated Serie A club makes him both sad and angry.

Despite admitting that Fiorentina holds a slightly more special place in the 35-year-old’s heart, Frey felt that the Ducali was the ideal place for a football club to flourish.

“I want to thank all the teams I played for, Inter, Hellas Verona, Parma, Fiorentina and Genoa for the wonderful experiences they gave me,” Frey told Social Calcio News.

“Obviously in Florence there was something special, but I do not hide that [what is happening] at Parma is so sad and makes you angry.

“It is unthinkable that a club so important in Italy and beyond would end like this!

“It was a perfect environment for football to grow.”

In what sounded like a confirmation that his career could end this summer, thanking his former clubs, the Frenchman accepted this had been a difficult year in Turkey with Bursaspor.

“Let’s say that last year was better,” continued Frey. “This year the club has changed its entire leadership and feels that something has changed in your relationship with the club.”
