Genoa assistant coach Tullio Gritti believes that everyone can enjoy watching his side play football after they comfortably beat Parma 2-0 at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Thursday.

Goals from Iago Falque and Leonardo Pavoletti secured a win for the Grifone that saw them rise to seventh place in Serie A, and Gritti was delighted with the performance.

“I think that everyone enjoys watching this team play,” he said to Sky Sport Italia.

“Genoa are one of the teams that always look to play football and dictate a match. We had a superb first half and indeed we’ve had a fantastic year. It was a shame that we only scored one goal in the first half.

“Our fans have never abandoned us. The club can reach any objective, but the best thing is that the fans can enjoy watching us play.

“Gasperini’s absence is only in order to give space to his colleagues. The coach decided to make me come so that everyone can see all the people that are working towards the success of Genoa.

“We have 44 points, which is the same as what we got in the entire season last year, it’s hugely satisfying. It’s great to watch this team play, we are exceptional.

“Sebastian De Maio deserves a call-up to the national team, as do other players in our squad.”
